Vauxhall have revealed the pricing and spec for the new off-road version of the Vauxhall Adam, and we kid you not its called Adam Rocks Air. To give the Adam its mini-SUV off-road toughness, Vauxhall have added 17-inch or 18-inch alloys to the range, increased the ride height, added beefy looking front and rear skid plates, and increased the width by 15mm due to those moulded-plastic wheel arches. The dampers, springs, rear suspension and steering have all been reworked. The Adam Rocks Air will also be the first Vauxhall to get the company’s new 1.0-litre, three cylinder petrol/gasoline turbo engine, the unit churns out 115bhp and can return a combined 55mpg thanks to its 6-speed transmission. The current engine line up of the 1.4 and 1.2, 4-cylinder engines will continue to be used and remain unchanged, these engines are mated to a 5-speed transmission. Options include Vauxhall’s IntelliLink infotainment system for £275 which integrates Android and Apple operability and includes USB and Bluetooth connectivity. Electric Power Steering and a City mode come as standard, City mode increases the rev limit at the touch of a button for improved throttle response at low revs. Hill start Assist is standard whereas Park Assist and Blind Spot Assist are optional, electric climate control costs and additional £300.
