Ferrari 458 Italia Spider Concept We Actually Like
Features
OK, so its well known we are massively biased towards Ferrari, we still can’t forgive them for ditching Di Montezemolo, but life goes on. This Ferrari 458 Italia Spider concept  is yet another excuse to feature a Ferrari, that and the fact that we actually hate convertible cars of any type or price bracket. Why is that?, well  the invention of air-conditioning meant that the convertible is actually a dinosaur, why pay more for something that is inherently structurally less capable than it’s hardtop sibling. Ferrari-458-Spider-Concept-Side However this concept appealed to our sensibilities, sometimes opinion’s can be changed and such as this concept-for-fun did its trick. Its by schurmanndesignan Italian designer with a prolific appetite for all things Ferrari and supercars. Ferrari-458-Concept-Spyder-Front We think it looks better than the current 458 Italia Spider, simpler styling details and curvier curves, you see we know how to use design language at its best. Ahem. If you think that this will ever be made then think again, as we said its just a concept for fun. The only issue we have are with the lights, we don’t like them too much. At the soul of the current 458 Italia is a naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 producing 562bhp at 9,000 rpm. Torque is rated at 398 lb-ft at 6,000 rpm, 80 percent of which is available from 3,250 rpm. The zero-to-60 mph sprint dispatched in just 3.3 seconds with a 201-mph top speed. Ferrari-458-Spider The 458 Italia Spider costs nearly £200k GBP in the UK and that’s enough to hurt our eyes, the problem we have with convertibles is not the slightly reduced performance but the fact that they are really purchased by poseur’s and that really makes our blood boil. And makes our eyes hurt.  Ferrari-458-Spider-Rear-view
