Renault Clio Goes For Bourgeois Clientele
Auto News
Renault is seeking to target buyers who want a little bit more va, va luxury with the launch of the Clio Initiale, which is a bourgeois way to say luxury. The posh Clio subcompact, will cost around an additional 3,500 euros more over the standard Clio range. Renault has targeted a growing market of urban drivers who want small cars but also want life’s little extra’s and are prepared to pay for it.. The Initial Paris trim-line debuted at the 2014 Paris Motorshow and will eventually rollout across further models in an attempt to counter similar luxury trim levels offered by Citroen’s DS range and the Vignale trim offered by another well known volume manufacturer. Clio-Initiale-Paris The Clio Initiale Paris TCe 90 starts at 21,500 euros and the Clio Initiale Paris dCi 90 EDC will retail for 3,350 euros more for 25,200 euros, that’s rather a lot for a little French car. The Clio Initial Paris range will be distinguished by exterior and interior decals, Xenon headlights and a front and rear bumper skirt. The interior gets Nappa leather trim and details such as aluminium pedals. The dashboard and door handles will be surfaced in leather and prank callers will have access to a dedicated call center. The Clio Initial Paris will go on sale in Europe by mid 2015. The Initial Paris trim-line may diverge into a separate upscale brand, Renault are keen to follow in the footsteps of Citroen’s DS range.  Renault-Clio-Initiale-Paris
