This is the 2015 Audi Q7, it was initially revealed by a hither to unknown Italian web blog and the leaked images spread like wild fire which forced officials at Audi to put out the flames.
The Q7 was originally expected to surprise and wow at the Detroit Auto Show in January, thankfully our Italian web blog friends were keen to reveal it a little earlier than Audi had planed. We love it when a plan comes together.
The all new Q7 is expected to go on sale during the first half of 2015 with prices expected to start from £45k for UK buyers. A Plug-in hybrid using the V6 Turbo diesel combined with an electric motor is expected follow in the second half of the year. A 2.0-Litre TFSi engine will be available for US and Asian markets only.
The Q7 resides on an all new aluminium platform that will underpin the next generation Porsche Cayenne and Bentley SUV and is said to be around 300kg lighter which should aid fuel economy warriors.
From an exterior design point of view the second generation Q7 looks more composed and the in your face front grille design is the most prominent and striking feature.
Audi hasn’t revealed any technical data but the blog responsible for the Q7 leak has, www.autopareri.com also shared a fully pre- written press release in addition to details regarding powerplants and a new generation of infotainment systems including one or two optionally available Audi tablets with 10.1 inch screens which are housed in the rear of front seat headrests. Update: Key facts confirmed by Audi as of 12/12/2014
