The guys over at Land Rovers PR department really know how to make noise about the latest generation high performance Range Rover Sports. Sensational they say of the SVR, the most power R R Sports ever made.
The SVR is fired by an improved version of the supercharged 5.0l V8 engine, with a power output of 550 PS and torque output of 680 Nm. The chassis had also been revised in addition to an Active exhaust system with electronically controlled valves.
The improvements are claimed to make the SVR capable of 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds and it can hit a top speed of 162 mph but Land Rover seems to be shouting louder than the exhaust note. Legendary JLR test driver, Mike Cross, puts the SVR through its paces at the Rockingham Speedway in the UK and its all captured in super slow motion, ironically, while cross engages us in a “black country” Birmingham accent. Luike.
