Volvo Unexpectedly Reveals The S60 Cross Country

It was 1997 and it was a very good year for Volvo, they launched the V70 Cross Country a 4×4 version of the estate and thereby created a new market segment which was soon copied by other car manufactures. The year is 2015 and last year was a very good year for Volvo and this year is predicted to be another good year with a slew of new product launches such as this rather unexpected S60 Cross Country which has just been revealed by Volvo. Just as the V70 Cross Country was a segment first, back in the day, so to is the S60 Cross Country. Its unchanged mechanically from the standard S60 saloon except for the ride height which has been increased to an off-road friendly height of 65mm. Volvo-S60-Cross-Country-Rear Styling cues include front and rear skid plates and protective cladding on the wheel arches which completes that rugged off-road visual stance. For the UK market The S60 Cross Country will launch with the Front-Wheel Drive 190 hp diesel D4, based on Volvo’s Drive-E powertrain. The S60 Cross Country will also be available in All-Wheel Drive for D4 trim levels which will use the 2.5L 5-cylinder diesel engine at a later as yet unconfirmed date.
