Audi Updates The A8, Adds New Sport Model

Audi has delivered what will be the final round of ‘blink and you will miss it’ updates to the A8 before an all new generation is unveiled late next year. The new A8 Sport model replaces the out going Sport Executive.  The the range will continue to be powered by a familiar looking engine line up. The SWB and LWB models feature two diesel engines, a 3.0-litre V6 which produces 262 PS and emits 149 g/km that returns a claimed 49.6 mpg. The other is a 4.2-litre V8 with 385 PS and a whopping 850 Nm of torque making the 0-62 mph sprint in 4.7 seconds (SWB model’s only) which emits 189 g/km of CO2 and returns a claimed 39.2 mpg. The petrol-electric hybrid is only present in top-of-the-range LWB models, and the S8 uses the familiar 4.0-litre V8 petrol unit to create a power surge of 520 PS. All models will now come with more equipment, the A8 Sport includes a reversing camera, a powered bootlit, remote engine starting via a the keyfob, power door closure and 22-way powered front seat adjustment. And the A8 Sport also gets unique, blink and you will miss it, exterior styling upgrades which include all-LED headlights with an anti-dazzle feature that’ll set certain LEDs to turn off automatically to prevent dazzling oncoming traffic and an upgraded 600W Bose audio system. The A8 Sport exterior is completed with new 19in alloy wheels and new side skirt designs. Pricing for the 16 plate A8 starts at £59k, the A8 Sport model will set you back £65k for the 3.0-litre TDi, the V8 TDi will cost £76k and will be available to order from June.  Audi-A8-Sport
