The Honda Civic Hatch will be sold in America after the company confirmed its return. Honda’s UK production facility in England will serve as the Civic’s main production and export hub for all North American Territories.
Meanwhile Honda have just revealed an emerald green Civic Hatch concept at the 2015 New York Auto Show which is seen as a precursor of things to come, style wise.
No specific details have been released just yet but Honda are making big promises, the 10th generation Civic will be based on a new platform and feature turbocharged petrol engines.
“The new Civic will be, flat out, the most dynamic, the most technologically advanced and the most refined and stylish Civic we’ve ever made,” said John Mendel, executive vice president, Automobile Division, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “In every way, this will be an epic Civic.”
Sources claim the Civic coupe concept is “as close to damn it” as the production version gets.
The British made Civic hatch and Type R will enter the American market around autumn by which time the Civic will be completely “re-imagined” and ready to roll of the assembly line.
Honda already sell a saloon variant of the Civic which is built in Alliston, Ontario and Greensburg Indiana.
Honda are planning a series of upgrades to improve its UK production plant in Swindon with the aim of turning it into a global production hub for the 10th generation Civic.
The production of the CR-V compact SUV is being transferred from Swindon to Ontario, the Civic Coupe will be made in Alliston.
