Lewis Hamilton Has Yet To Prove He Is Great Says Former Great
Formula One
Former F1 driver Sir Stirling Moss reckons Lewis Hamilton can not be considered one of the all time greats. Moss, who is considered the greatest F1 driver never to win a championship was speaking to the Telegraph. “I don’t think he’s a great yet. He’s slightly less valued than someone like Jim Clark, but he’s certainly on the way”. Moss was of course referring to Jim Clark who is considered to be the greatest F1 driver of them all, the late Ayrton Senna was one such driver who revered Clark above all else. Jim Clark rewrote the F1 record books for others to follow before he was killed during a Formula Two race in Hockenheim in 1968. Moss does believe Hamilton will secure his third drivers title this year. “I think he probably will. He’s got the right engine. You’ve got to have a Mercedes to win. He’s got that, he’s got the skill. He has a lot of experience. He’s been around quite a while now”. Moss drove alongside the legendary Juan Manuel Fangio and knows a good driver from a great. Asked whether Nico Rosberg could beat his team mate Moss simply said, “I don’t think Nico will ever beat him, actually.” Moss had one final say on Hamilton “I would think if he clinches the title this year then he would be considered in the same… but you have to be very careful. Because him doing that is one thing, but what Clark did to get to the same stage is different. It’s very difficult to appraise it.”  Lewis-Hamilton-Mood
