So you’ve been hard at work on your new secret project only to see it leaked all over the interweb weeks before its revealed to the world. Its a face palm moment, tears stream down your already bloodshot eyes caused by your sleep patterns being interrupted by copious amounts of late night drinks of coffee. That’s a day in the month of the life of Vauxhall’s design and engineering teams who have been undone by an anonymous web leak revealing the all new look of the 2015 Astra. Actually the mystery web leak was revealed by Italian ‘websters’ Carpassion. The Astra is facing stiff competition from the VW Golf and judging by these exclusive photos it looks as though Vauxhall is up for the fight. The exterior borrows design cues from the Adam with the floating roof effect. Its an altogether cleaner and sharper looking design. The interior seems to be a step up in terms of refinement and its said the Astra will carry over petrol and diesel engines such as the 115PS 1.0-liter 3-cylinder, the 140PS 1.4-litre turbo and a new 1.6-litre biturbo with 195PS. Diesel power-plants will include the tried and trusted 1.6-litre and a new 2.0-litre CDTI with 195PS. Vauxhall will officially unveil the Astra in September during the Frankfurt Motorshow, meanwhile Vauxhall will be sending the entire design and engineering team to Syria to help battle the IS as part of a ‘team building exercise’. We call it punishment.
