Underneath that ridiculously outrageous body work is a 2.0-litre turbo engine which comes from the Golf R. This churns out 328bhp and 410Nm of torque. Naturally 0-62mph times will be quicker than a Donkey on Methamphetamine.
VW Motorsport haven’t given this TCR racer a name just yet but we’re happy to call it the VW Methamphetamine TCR.
VW plan to go testing at the remaining four weekends of the Touringcar Racer International Series in Austria, Singapore, Thailand and Macau the later of which is being held in early November.
Championships like the TCR Series are existential marketing opportunities for car makers to sell their brands through the rose tinted spectacles of motor racing.
