Jenson Button Targeted & Gassed In Jewellery Heist During St Tropez Getaway
Formula One
This story broke just before mid-night yesterday and reading various news sources you immediately get the impression that its not for real. But it is and Jensen Button was targeted by highly organised criminals during a break at a luxury villa with his wife and three other guests in St Tropez, South of France. According to the local Police Button’s rented luxury villa has been watched for some days by a as yet un-identified gang of criminals. When Button his wife and guests were fast asleep the criminals seeped anesthetic gas into the air-conditioning vents and this rendered all within unconscious until the effects of the gas wore off many hours later. During the time that Button his wife and guests were anesthetized the criminals broke into the villa and ransacked the contents taking an estimated £300,000 GBP worth of jewelry including the wedding ring given by Button to his wife Jessica. When Button awoke later that morning he found the contents of house had been turned over. Jenson Button’s spokesperson said in a statement; “Two men broke into the property whilst they all slept and stole a number of items of jewellery including, most upsettingly, Jessica’s engagement ring. The police have indicated that this has become a growing problem in the region with perpetrators going so far as to gas their proposed victims through the air conditioning units before breaking in.” French Police have said that house robberies perpetrated by means of gassing the occupants has been rumored about for some time but no evidence has been found to prove it. Until now and in the most high profile way. French Police have now confirmed that they believe criminal gangs either from Eastern Europe or Russia are targeting St Tropez because its a destination favored by the wealthy elite. Either way this gassing incident could have killed Button, his wife and guests if the criminals got the gas dosage wrong. Button and his wife were reported to have left the area not long after the incident. It looks as though St Tropez has permanently lost one of its famous residents for good.  Button-&-Wife
