Meet The 2016 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4
Auto News
Lamborghini have yet another reason to celebrate yet another anniversary. You see the year 2016 will mark the company’s founder 100th birthday. Ferruccio Lamborghini died in 1993. The former tractor manufacturer set-up Lamborghini after being left unimpressed with his Ferrari 250GT. Lamborghini has come a long way since then, even under German occupation the Italian supercar maker still hasn’t lost that important ingredient of them all. Italian flair. Lamborghini will pay the ultimate tribute to its founder in the same way Ferrari did so with the Enzo. Its rumored to be called the Centenario LP 770-4. Lamborghini reportedly previewed the limited edition hypercar at the 2015 Monterey Car Week to a select clientle of private buyers back in August. Little is known about the technical aspects surrounding the Centenario LP 770-4. It may well be powered by a hybrid drive system producing close to or beyond 770bhp. Therefore the top speed will be ridiculously out of reach on public roads and 0-62 times will be like the moment when the DeLorean from the Back To The Future movies fires itself back into the future. Most reports suggest the powerplant will be a mid-mounted 6.5-litre V12 combined with an electric powerplant. It seems Lamborghini will stick to their V12 traditions for this one off special edition. No details on pricing are available, but Lamborghini is sure to mark this anniversary in typically flmbouyant style and therefore expect a hefty special edition price tag. Our friends over at TopSpeed.com have rendered the exterior design. However we believe the Centenaroi will be a 2+2 Miura inspired GT.  Lamborghini-Top-Speed-Rendering
