It is a styling exercise, exorcised by the creative minds of Gaydon’s marketing department. As with all special edition models you get special edition stuff like Spectre Silver paint work to reflect not only the light reflecting off those glorious DB9 lines but also the forthcoming Bond film, Spectre. And potential owners will also get ‘Bond Edition’ exterior badging. The DB9 Bond Edition is loosely based on the DB9 GT so you also get unique ten-spoke gloss black diamond turned 20-inch alloy wheels; bright aluminium bonnet vents, side strakes and grille; carbon fibre front splitter and rear diffuser, and grey brake calipers. The Bond theme continues inside with a subtle homage to James Bond such as unique numbered sill plaques featuring the familiar 007 logo; gun barrel embroidery on the 2+2’s rear seat divider and a special Bond Edition start-up screen on the new model’s AMi II touch-sensitive Aston Martin infotainment system.
