We’re paying yet another visit to the Mulholland Highway as we have done on a few previous occasions here on DCB. Mulholland Highway in California is a tight twisty picturesque road route and has become a gathering point for motoring enthusiasts.
Of particular interest to these enthusiasts is a two mile section know as the “Snake” which features uphill, downhill undulations, camber changes you name it and so on. Its very challenging.
One enterprising YouTuber has found a particular point which is particularly challenging, it isn’t the fastest but it requires the most refined driving technique if your aim is to take it as fast as possible, it’s particularly difficult for motorcyclists.
Most do not succeed, as the video shows, and most crash as a result, the speeds are less than 45mph but in slow motion it looks like a lot of trouble for very little gain.
YouTuber RnickeyMouse says “I mainly shoot on the last corner coming up because I can see much of the road and photogs are expected. The turn gets it’s fair share of crashes but people crash other places also just no one is filming. The top corner I shoot seem to average one crash every couple weeks in the summer, out of many hundreds of riders. 911 emergency services are rarely called and accidents are seldom reported since most riders do not get injured severely. “
