Mercedes S65 Cabriolet AMG Is Predictably Fast & Predictably Expensive
Auto News

So here it is the convertible version of the S65 AMG Coupe, the Mercedes S65 AMG Cabriolet to give it its full title. Lets get straight to the point, the S65 AMG Cabriolet is powered by the same 6.0-litre twin-turbo v12 which delivers a whopping 621bhp and an insane 1,000Nm of torque. This amount of power really is enough to send you back to the future.

Naturally the performance figures are blistering, 0-62 in 4.1 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 155mph. Unrestricted, the S65 AMG cabriolet can actually manage 186mph.

We don’t care about the fuel economy stats or Co2 hippy emissions, totally meaningless.

The 20-inch rims are designed to cater for all that power, naturally the S65 is rear-wheel-drive and naturally the AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission allows all of that power to be unleashed. Very quickly.

The fabric roof is triple-layered and is made from what Mercedes is calling acoustic-fabric that is designed to act as a sound deadening material when raised. The fabric roof takes 17 seconds to open or close at speeds of upto 30mph.

As with all S Class interior’s you can expect exceptional levels of decadence, interior kit and infotainment technology. You know what we mean right?

On the outside the S65 AMG Cabriolet is distinguished by a “twin blade” radiator grille, decals on the “A-wing”, two chromed tailpipes on the AMG sports exhaust system and the “V12 BITURBO” decals.
