Is This The New Aston Martin DB11?
Auto News
These are leaked spy shots allegedly of the new Aston Martin DB11 that have been trickling across the interweb and creating a storm. Well maybe to at least two panel beaters in a backstreet alley of a rusty warehouse unit in Calcutta. Like all leaks the images are rather grainy and unbelievable at first. But as more sightings start to pour in the realisation dawns that the original leaks were correct all along. We here at DCB Towers are die hard Aston Martin supporters. And as difficult as it is for us to say lets hope these spy shots are not for real, lets hope its a doctored image from a deranged conspiracy theorist. To us the DB9 will always be the definitive British supercar, big V12, glorious sound, great handling and timeless style. Therefore the DB11 has a lot to live up to no matter how much better it will be. So the image was first leaked on the interweb by a Dutch car website, AutoJunk. Additional images of the interior have also surfaced. But we here at DCB Towers are sensitive to Aston Martin’s need for discretion. It’s called respect… Ahem! The DB11 is due to be officially revealed at next months Geneva Motorshow and will spearhead a new model launch campaign that will see a fond farewell to the old and hello to the new generation. Will the DB11 be an evolution of the ageless DB9 or will it be a radical overhaul not just in the styling department but also the power-plant. In time we will know. We do know that the DB11 will herald a new partnership with Mercedes who will be supplying Aston Martin with the latest generation of EU compliant V8 and V12 engines and in addition to electronic components. Mercedes currently own a 5 percent shareholding in Aston Martin in lieu of a fee in return for the engine supply deal. Aston Martin will be given access to a delicatessen of Mercedes engineering and this time it isn’t going to be personal, it’s going to be Twin Turbo power. The DB11 will rest on an evolution of Aston Martin’s current chassis technology, the DB9’s bonded and riveted aluminium sub structure was already advanced at the time when launched and the principles learned will be carried over onto the the DB11. The DB11’s chassis will form the basis for an adaptable platform that could also be used for the next generation 2018 Vantage and also a proposed SUV, the DBX which could arrive by 2019 or 2020.  Aston-Martin-DB11-SpyRear
