Is This The Sickest Looking McLaren Ever Made?
Auto News
It probably is. But it will never be made available for public consumption for this is McLaren’s track focused entry into the Group GT3 endurance racing series. The GT3 championship allows for a range of cars to enter with almost no limit on engine sizes, configurations and chassis sizes. However there are limits to the horsepower, weight and engine management. For example the total horsepower is regulated to between 500bhp and 600bhp. McLaren-650S-GT3-Profile These restrictions haven’t put off McLaren Automotive who will be entering one of these highly modified factory spec 650S GT3 for the 2016 season. No fancy dual clutch gearbox, its a race spec 6 speed sequential with wheel mounted paddles. You want a front and rear race spec diffuser with a front splitter? you got. McLaren-650S-GT3-Interior What about 4-way adjustable dampers with coil over springs? Adjustable anti-roll bars? A double wishbone adjustable for ride height, camber and toe? or 18-inch race spec tyres? You got it all. The 650S GT3 also comes with a FIA approved safety roll cage and air-jacking system. McLaren-650S-GT3-Rear The 3.8-litre Twin Turbo will deliver the same FIA regulated output of 493bhp while the power to weight ratio is 483 hp/ton from a car that weighs 1240kg. Think about it for one moment the road going version delivers 157bhp more than the race spec GT3. However the 650S GT3’s power-to-weight ratio means it will go like stink. But to us the it’s the GT3 spec body that makes this one of the meanest and insane looking 650s models you can’t buy. Word out to Liberty Walk. Well actually you can buy it so long as you have deep pockets. The 2015 650s GT3 cost £330,000 and was limited to 15 examples. Expect the 2016 650s GT3 to cost more, not less. Still it’s one mean looking beast, a factory spec modified “McCaar” if you will.  McLaren-650S-GT3-Front
