Williams First Off The Line With FW38 Unveiling
Formula One
Williams have officially begun the 2016 F1 season by being the first team to reveal their new racing car. While there are no guarantees that being first off the block will bring in the trophies Williams do at least keep the same driver lineup. Valtteri Bottas will continue to partner alongside seasoned F1 veteran Felipe Massa. The FW38 retains the title sponsorship livery with Martini Racing branded stripes dominating the overall look. Founder and team principal Sir Frank Williams has understated goals for 2016, to retain a third place finish having done so for the past two seasons. Sir Frank Williams; “Williams has started to cement our position back amongst the front running teams after finishing third in the Championship in the past two seasons. Staying where we are will be a challenge in itself, but we are determined to keep improving because only winning will ever be good enough.”   Williams-FW38 Last years car had a low speed stability issue which unbalanced the car’s high speed stability. Winter testing will begin at the Barcelona track on Monday 22nd February. Williams Chief Techical Officicer, Pat Symonds said; “The FW37 was a pretty effective car and so we concentrated on understanding the areas where we could improve it without losing the attributes which made it effective,”  By the time Williams take the FW38 to the first race in Australia on March 20th new parts and upgrades will have been scheduled, developed and fitted. The pace of race by race development is unrelenting in Formula 1. However it’s no guarantee of ever returning success.  Williams-FW38-Front
