BMW’s China Only 1 Series Saloon Doesn’t Look Too Bad
Auto News
We worry when we hear things like “the fastest growing” whatever market or product. What happens when the market demand inevitably slows? Which it always does. BMW doesn’t do popular soundbites, it simply makes popular cars no matter what the market conditions are at any given time.  It could be to do with BMW’s prestige/premium brand recognititon. BMW represents success and being an owner or being in some way associated with the brand is a measure of personal wealth and success. No mater how much the monthly PCP costs are. China is the new frontier for automotive manufactures and it is the fastest growing car market in the world for new car buyers. Prestige/premium brand+fast growing market = Turnover. You will know by now that the Chinese have different tastes and place an importance on cars that offer plentiful rear space. Enter the all new China only 1 Series saloon. The 1 Series Saloon is the result of BMW’s drive to steer a clear path in China, the company has a production base within the territory which will aim to supply anticipated future demand. The 1 Series Saloon will be an entry level model and will line up alongside the X1 and 2 Series Active Tourer. Doing so will offer consumers more entry level choice say BMW. The development of the 1 Series saloon was carried out primarily in Germany with input from Chinese engineers to fine-tune the suspension settings for local preferences within China. The final production version of the 1 Series saloon has been influenced by the BMW Compact Saloon Concept unveiled last year. But to our eyes it looks like a shrunken 3 Series. BMW has yet to reveal the engine range, trim levels or price just yet but it shouldn’t be anything that we haven’t seen so far. And the word on the street is that the 1 Series Saloon won’t be heading to the UK, apparently UK buyers are splashing the cash on SUV’s and hatchbacks.  BMW-1-Series-Saloon
