The best we could do or compare with a V8 muscle car were coupes like the crappy Ford Capri which really was a pile of crapi even for the time. But times have moved on, not for crappy Ford, but for Camaro the new generation ZL1 is here and it’s powered by a 6.2-litre Supercharged V8 which means 650bhp and a massive 881Nm of torque. The ZL1 is perhaps the most focused Camaro ever it has an electronic differential, magnetic ride, stability control, a 10 speed auto and Brembo  6-piston front and 4 piston rear brakes. It’s also lighter by 100kg so what Chevrolet have done is make a refined muscle car that is good enough to take on the more refined European class of muscle cars. The Camaro ZL1 can very nearly benchmark the M4 GTS around the Nurburgring with a time of 7:29:60, which is 11 seconds faster than the previous gen ZL1. However the ZL1 will have to get in the queue when the even faster Camaro Z/28 arrives and that is said to have a chance of beating the M4 GTS’s time around Nurburgring.
