Rolls Royce Kickstarts 2017 With Savage Sales Surge
Industry News

British luxury car maker Rolls Royce is continuing on a upward sales trajectory, demand is at an all time high and it seems the good times will never end after the company posted record sales results in the UK, Germany, China, Japan and the US. However sales in the Middle East territory have proved difficult due socio-economic and geo-political challenges.

Rolls Royce looks upon itself as a maker of luxury goods, made in exclusively in England by English craftsmen and women. It is the aura of traditional, high quality British workmanship that is the very essence of Rolls Royce attaining such high demand for what is a specialist, low volume car manufacture.

The British firm – which is located in West Sussex – recorded a 6 percent increase on cars sold in 2016 compared to 2015.

The British luxury car maker sold 4,011 cars into more than 50 countries with a 26 percent rise in demand in the UK alone.

Japan recorded the biggest rise in year-on-year sales with a 51 percent increase in demand, while China sales rose by 23 percent and US sales rose 10 percent.

Despite worries over the Brexit result Rolls Royce is betting on future demand by planning to increase capacity at it’s Technology and Logistics Centre in Southern England.

Since 2003 Rolls Royce has increased it’s workforce from 350 employees to a present day total workforce of 1,700 people.

Chief executive Torsten Mueller-Otvos  “Success for Rolls-Royce is success for Great Britain and we reaffirm our commitment to maintaining the home of Rolls-Royce in the UK.”

The result of the Brexit referendum hasn’t yet been fully digested financially. Mueller-Otvos had hoped the UK would vote to remain in the EU during the referendum campaign because leaving would drive up trade costs. The voters had their momentous say, no one can predict if the UK will leave at all, for now the horizon looks endless.

Nevertheless Mueller-Otvos continued his upbeat assessment “We are deeply proud of the achievements of our historic brand over the past years. Rolls-Royce continues to surge forward in a confident and sustainable manner. Our business model, which is rooted in our unique and detailed understanding of the multifaceted world of luxury, is producing growth at just the right pace for a truly rare and exclusive brand. This is what our customers demand of us and this is what we will continue to deliver.”
