Look I was over-ruled in the editorial meeting about this list I would have said a 3000W speaker system but I had to write about boring ABS… The Antilock Brake System (ABS) is what some would consider to be a vital piece of safety kit for any car. It is a clever feature, and there is a good chance that it has saved numerous lives over the years. But what is it, and how does it work? Put simply, the ABS prevents a vehicle’s wheels from locking during so-called ‘panic’ braking. This allows the driver to retain a good sense of control over the steering. That, in turn, aids greatly in ensuring that the car is not involved in a collision. As far as safety features go, this is one of the most essential.
Tinted Windows
Tinted windows used to be the preserve of drug dealers. Today attitudes have changed, now tinted windows are accepted by the drug taking middle-classes who use them to conveniently hide their identity when buying drugs from their preferred dealer, usually named Tim who lives with his mum in a terraced house but drives a £150k supercar. When it comes to enabling a keen sense of privacy in your vehicles, there are few greater ways to do it than by getting the windows tinted. Tinted windows might not be for everyone, but using a service like premier auto tint will ensure that they are just how you want them. With tinted windows, you will often feel much safer as you drive around, and you are much less likely to suffer as a result of people being able to look in. No matter what car you drive, this can be a great addition which adds both security and a sense of class to your vehicle.
Electronic Stability Control
If you think this is a contrived and exceedingly boring list then I am high fivin’ you bro. However though much less well-known than the previous features, this is no less important or necessary. Electronic stability control is a feature which is becoming more and more common these days, and it’s not hard to see why. If you have ever noticed how difficult it can be to keep control of the wheel during extreme maneuvers, then you will understand the need for this feature. Electronic stability control is simple: when the car is spinning out too much, it automatically applies the brakes to one wheel. This stops the extreme maneuver from happening, and means that you are much more likely to avoid a crash.
Drowsiness Detection
We’re not sure how this feature got through the editorial process and onto this list but it might just be a life saver. If you’re about 90 years old or 12 years old if you like in Spark Hill, Birmingham where boozed up kids steal cars for fun then drowse off behind the wheel and crash. There is a solution to the problem of drowsy driving. Some Volvo vehicles now have an in-built drowsiness detection feature. We all know what kinds of problems can result from falling asleep at the wheel, so there is no doubt that this is a great new safety feature.
