Since 2013 100,000 UK Consumers Have Been Mugged By Dacia
Auto News
That’s correct 100,000 people in the UK have purchased a Dacia… how the hell did that happen? The prime answer is that Dacia’s are cheap to buy new, the problem is residuals are more or less worthless, its better to scrap a used Dacia than to sell it on. And that’s why we reckon people have been mugged. Renault owned Dacia naturally uses Renault underpinnings, built in Romania Dacias are cheap because the labour costs are cheap and this is passed onto the end consumer. Dacia sell to many international territories and ships out kits to Renault owned production sites in Russia, Morocco, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, South Africa, Iran and India. Dacia has suffered quality control problems with UK consumers reporting and complaining about rust developing after a few months of ownership. Being a former Renault owner I can say for certainty that I have never forgiven Renault for their fundamentally flawed Turbo charger design in addition to many quality issues. Nevertheless Dacia is Romania’s biggest company by revenue and the largest exporter, constituting 7.3% of the country’s total exports in 2014. The Dacia manufacturing plant in Mioveni, Argeș County is Europe’s fifth biggest car manufacturing facility by volume. We have driven the Dacia Duster on test when they first entered the UK market and our professional opinion is stay away from them, they feel like they were engineered in 1980. That said, 100,000 people can’t be wrong but you know what they are wrong, don’t buy a Dacia, every car depreciates in value and if you are going to loose money then loose it on something better.  Dacia-Mugs-Consumers
