Meet The Liberator, The Lotus Evora GT430 The Most Powerful Lotus Yet
Auto News
Eventually it will be superseded but for now, feast your eyes on the most powerful road going Lotus production car ever made. The Toyota sourced 3.5-Litre supercharged and charge cooled V6 has been reworked by the bods at Lotus Hq to deliver 430bhp and 440Nm of torque. The Evora has shed 26kg of weight thanks to a titanium exhaust (which also gives the 430 a beefier sounding exhaust note) and also through the use of carbon fiber parts. On the outside, the Evora GT430 gets a massive rear wing that is said to add 250kg of downforce when killing it at 190mph. Just 60 examples will be made available for worldwide markets. Performance figures read fast, very fast the 0-60mph time is zoned out in 3.7 seconds and Lotus says the top speed is close to damn it 190mph. Carbon fiber body panels replace some sections of the car such as new front and rear bumpers in addition to the splitter, air blades and wheel arch areo-ducts. Lotus-Evora-GT430-Carcela-Rear Lotus has always been known for the maxim of lighter, faster…. nothing in between however the 1,250kg dry weight isn’t exactly light by Lotus standards. Grip is provided by 10 mm wider Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres, with 245/35 R19 at the front and 295/30 R20 at the rear, on one inch wider 10.5J rear wheels. Ultra-lightweight forged aluminium wheels are standard, in either black or silver, with optional finishes available in gloss red or a gloss black machined rim design. Lotus-Evora-GT430-Carcela-Rear As now standard with modern day performance cars, the GT430 also includes driving mode settings Drive, Sport, Race in addition to a new variable traction control setting. The ECU can modulate the amount of wheel slip and the traction control can be set by the driver ranging from 1% to 12%. Stopping power comes via a two-piece J-grooved and ventilated brake discs at the front and AP Racing four-piston calipers all round, the rear uses three-piece discs with lightweight aluminum centres saving 2 kg. The interior is trimmed in leather/Alcantara, mostly Alcantara, with carbon back Sparco bucket seats. Available to order now the Evora GT430 will be available for North American markets in Spring 2018.  Lotus-Evora-GT430-Carcela
