So… What’s So Special About The Range Rover Velar?
Here you have the newest Range Rover on the market. Welcome, the Range Rover Velar. This isn’t just any vehicle – it’s your own personal butler, waiting on you hand and foot. In terms of what Land Rover have been saying, the new Velar SUV is jam packed full of new technology that will “create an in-built technology butler” which is all down to the “all-new, cutting-edge infotainment system.” What is this, you may ask? Infotainment is a collection of software and hardware in vehicles that provide audio and video entertainment along with information content. Peter Virk (the Director of Connected Car and Future Technology) said that this incredibly intelligent system “learns from you and anticipates your needs, serving what you want, when you want it – but never intrudes… like any good butler.” Now doesn’t that intrigue you ever more to learn about what exactly this beauty can do? Land Rover says that the Velar connects the void between the Range Rover Sport and the Evoque. The void being the fact that although the Sport is stunning and drives wonderfully, it’s a real pain to drive when you get onto the tight streets around the city because of its size. Specifics The Velar gives you the chance to power it by five different engines. They vary in sensibility and speed. The most sensible being a 178bhp 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel, which is good for 0-60mph in 8.4secs, a top speed of 130mph and more than 52mpg. The highest is a 2.0-litre diesel with 237bhp, a 6.8sec 0-60mph time, a top speed of 135mph and a slightly lower economy at 49mpg. The levels of specification start as the standard Velar, through the usual S, SE and HSE specifications, followed by an even sportier appearance for you rockstars out there with the R-Dynamic kit. Prices will start from between $40,000 – $50,000, and they go all the way up to around $80,000 or more. Build Land Rover say that this new Velar had been build from all sustainable materials which means that recycling has been put to action (which is always good for the environment.) The Velar obviously used quite a bit of aluminum, so think of all those cans that were recycled to build just one of these cars. It also has a brand new design to give Range Rover an overall makeover. Range-Rover-VelarDust-Buster-HillClimb

Land Rover have done an amazing job of kitting out the Velar with a suite of off-road add ons that you could have only ever dreamed of. Having said that, all of these features will go to waste if you only plan on purchasing this car to drive yourself to work and back in the city. With this car, you will need a good excuse to test out what it can really do on a dirt road.

Regardless of the new exciting features though, you are given all the important basics like traffic warnings, autonomous emergency braking, and even an indicator within the car that can detect if you’re about to fall asleep behind the wheel. This is done by monitoring your heart rate and brainwaves (thanks, NASA) to ensure you aren’t getting drowsy.

The styling of the Velar is one to admire, but having said that, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it’s down to you to make your own decision on its appearance.

In terms of its color, you have the options of what paint you use, being solid color, metallic and premium metallic. They come in the standard colors of white and black, along with an array of different shades of gunmetal gray, a subtle blue, and a deep red. That’s not the only choice you have though. You can virtually build your own Velar to suit your personality to a T by choosing the interior and exterior design, from the seats to the dashboard, all the lights, the audio and even the steering wheel.

You have the options of getting a premier tint to give you a gorgeous overall look while protecting your car’s skin and interior from all the harmful UV rays out there, reducing the sun damage and premature aging. Plus, you’ll be keeping you car cooler meaning you don’t need to overdo it with the aircon.

Go online and have a look at all the different features you can add depending on what you plan on doing with your vehicle.

No matter how old you are, what gender you are and what you do for a living, this Velar can be customized and personalized however you see fit.

Also, if you like a bit of drift and drag, then this Land Rover product is one of the slipperiest that has ever been made, with a drag coefficient of a whopping 0.32.

Fun Fact

Here’s a fun fact, the name Velar was actually the name that was originally given to the very first Range Rover prototypes that Land Rover designed and built way back in 1969. The original Range Rover was displayed in The Louvre museum in the 1970’s, and even back then it was an incredible bit of equipment.

Knowing that now, makes the whole vehicle even sweeter, because there’s a real story behind it.

So now it’s in your hands. Does this car excite you in a way that makes your ready to own one last week? If the answer is a definite yes, then scrape together a fair $70,000 and go and give Land Rover a ring. – We’re sure they will be happy to take your call. Remember, you don’t have to spend that much, but depending on how carried away you get when building your own personalized vehicle, you may just need it.

The conclusion of this stunning beast, also known as the Range Rover Velar, is that it’s visually pleasing, you control what you want it to look like, what you want it to do, and how it does it. Its performance is great and has a lot of incredible add-ons and features. So as long as you can make the most out of what it can do by enjoying the benefits of driving off the road – it’s a winner.
