All New VW T-Roc Looks Suspiciously Like The Audi Q2
Auto News
After weeks of build up and renewed hope, teaser shots, hope and concept previews… and yet more hope VW finally revealed their new T Roc, a compact SUV that more or less facsimiles the Audi Q2. With the Compact SUV market booming VW wanted to cash in quickly and using the Q2 as a base they essentially called in the “redecorators”. Even this process requires time and effort to undertake, new tooling and manufacturing processes need to be made ready.  Visually, the VW T Roc has more sculpted front and rear fenders and rear quarter panels, just enough to make people think twice… or not at all. VW can get away with this lazy-ass approach because they are the boss, they own Audi and it makes financial sense to borrow what they already funded and developed. The upshot is that the T-Roc should be less expensive at retail than the Audi Q2. Not much detail is given by VW regarding precise spec or price, but if you are familiar with VW’s current line up of models than the T-Roc should mirror the specs and offerings of the Polo. A host of technologies will also filter down such as Front Assist area monitoring with City Emergency Braking and Pedestrian Monitoring, and lane keeping system Lane Assist. And the latest digital infotainment systems and smartphone connectivity. VW-T-ROC-Compact-SUV-Rear-View Standard across the range will be air conditioning, the Composition Colour infotainment system, LED tail light cluster and LED daytime running lights in the bumper. Entry level models will be front-wheel drive and offered with a six-speed manual gearbox. More expensive models will have and the dual clutch gearbox (7-speed DSG). Prices should start from around £20-22k, the T-Roc will launch across Europe first this November.  VW-T-ROC-Compact-SUV-
