Which is ironic considering how lesser known we are. More to the point SsangYong has released a special edition version of the Tivoli Ultimate. Between you and I, special editions are created as a way for car companies to keep you, the consumer, interested in buying a car that you may or may not need. So, a special edition typically includes very mild updates that ideally do not cost the company too much to implement, yet it allows for some profiteering. This isn’t limited to SsangYong, every other car company engages in this best practice. One thing that isn’t updated is the Tivoli Ultimate’s 1.6 litre, 4-cylinder engine which is Euro 6 compliant and is available with either a six-speed manual or automatic. Special edition features include an electrically operated and ventilated driver’s seat, heated steering wheel, and facelift enhancements to the front including LED foglamps. Further differences over the standard car include a repositioned handbrake and minor changes to the switchgear. Current generation safety features include Forward Collision Warning and Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Assist, High Beam Assistance, and Traffic Sign Recognition. It also includes seven airbags – front, side and curtain airbags plus a driver’s knee airbag. the Ultimate also includes leather upholstery, keyless starting, parking sensors and reversing camera, cruise control, electric windows, smart steering, Last but not least is a 7” touchscreen with RDS radio, iPod & Bluetooth connectivity, TomTom navigation, diamond cut alloy wheels and dual-zone air conditioning.
