Mitsubishi (now part of the Nissan Renault Alliance) will head on over to the 2019 Geneva Motorshow with a show stopping concept. Named after the prestigious Swiss ski-resort, the Engelberg Tourer Concept will focus on next-generation EV powertrains and technology.
And that’s all we know so far. Mitsubishi is sure to reveal more details soon. But that leaves this post with a problem. We don’t have enough of a word count. We just gotta nail that SEO every damn time.
Anyway, we’re banned from the Mitsubishi UK event scene. Well, actually we decided to withdraw. When the criminal CEO Carlos Ghosn bought Mitsubishi that was a gamechanger.. for us.
Mitsubishi UK PR parlayed an open environment with friendly and apporachable people. However, the courtesy of the Mitsubishi hall is somewhat lessened of late.
Makes sense though, only we didn’t get on with Nissan. Never have.
It began with the then Nissan PR Director was disparaging us on Twitter along with a circle of media sycophants. We prefer not to mention his name.
He didn’t know we were following his twitter timeline. It was petty minded commentary. We don’t want to deal with such people.
If you are going to shit on us do so behind our backs Tom Barnard and not in an open public forum. Because now we have a right to reply.
Our reply is here. So the matter is now closed. But that’s not the issue.
Self Imposed Exile
Our journey into a self-imposed exile from Mitsubishi started at another press department. Fiat.
At the time we were confirming a product loan from Fiat. However, the previous guy we dealt with had just been replaced.
And his replacement was clearly lacking in the high standards set by his predecessor.
We don’t want to name him. But as we called to confirm the booking he began to shout us down.
Well to be fair, can you really call a loudly raised voice shouting?
Obviously, he didn’t want us near a Fiat. Which is fine, but there are better ways to communicate than shouting or loudly raising your voice.
Mr Shouty PR Guy
If you are in PR and you need to shout to assert yourself, then you shouldn’t be in PR. You should be a Millwall supporter.
Why did Mr. Shouty shout? For what reason? we don’t know. But we never forgot and never forgave. Fiat has been off-limits to us ever since.
And now the same Mr. Shouty, (as we call him) is doing his thing over at Mitsubishi.
Just Another Bad JLR Apple
Since then Mitsubishi has “tightened the noose”. Whether it was due to Mr. Shouty’s influence we don’t know.
But we knew our time was over and had to go into permanent exile.
But what we do know is that
We don’t know why he selectively decided to shout us down. But it is what it is. W
We’re not very good at the PR game are we. We should quit this industry years ago.
