Volkswagen Golf aficionados will be pleased to know the Golf GTi TCR is ready and waiting for potential buyers. The Golf GTi TCR is derived from VW’s Touring Car racer. The GTi TCR will slot in between the Golf GTi performance and Golf R.

The Golf GTi TCR is powered by a detuned 2.0-litre TSi engine. So, that means 286bhp and 380Nm of torque. Power is transmitted by VW’s seven-speed DSG gearbox.

Of course, performance will be fast, 5.6 seconds from 0-62mph fast and 155mph top speed fast.

The top speed is restricted to 155mph. However, the intended middle-class buyer of the GTI TCR will typically have a local cocaine dealer at his disposal.
