If You Want An Off-Roader Buy A Range Rover And Not The Lamborghini Sterrato
Auto News

The inner child in me says YES! to the Huracan based Lamborghini Sterrato Concept off-roader. But the growing cynic on my shoulder says.. WTF!? I think this is so outrageous it actually appears to be more like a questionable looking pantomime than the usual drama filled Lamborghini. The Huracan exterior has been re-worked. Wider fenders, off-road tyres, raised ride height.

The naturally aspirated 5.2-litre V10 provides 630bhp of power. But the Sterrato isn’t about straight-line performance. Lamborghini engineers thought long and hard about transforming it into a proper, very proper off-road… supercar.

Lamborghini software engineers have developed LDVI which takes the AWD drivetrain and tells the computers to make it feel like “enhanced rear wheel drive”.

The ride is raised 47mm higher than a standard Huracan, the underbody has been reinforced with more protection, details which turn this Huracan into a 4×4 off-road supercar.

But it doesn’t end there. The interior is fitted with a titanium roll cage and the floors are decked out in aluminum. So what is the point of the Lamborghini Sterrato?

We’re still doing the math to work this one out. We will be some time. Bear with us. However, the Sterrato is just a concept and will not be available for sale… we think.

It’s a concept, its wild, a bit of fun. But seriously if you want an off-roader just buy an unreliable as hell Range Rover. That’s how uncomfortable we are with this concept, we’ve actually recommended buying an unreliable as hell Range Rover.
