The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer looks good. Why Chevrolet didn’t offer this type of vehicle when they entered the UK and European markets is a mystery. What they offered was shitty little European style cars to appeal to European and UK tastes. Hower Chevrolet pulled out of the UK and European markets a few years ago. Back home in the “good Ol boys of USA” the Chevrolet brand still offers up big muscley powered SUVs, because that’s all Americans buy. But now Chevrolet is offering its big SUVs with smaller engines. That sounds a bit European to us. Anyway…

The 2020 Chevrolet Blazer will feature a new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine. For the average American SUV buyer that’s like asking the bartender for a glass of water instead of 20 pints of beer(n one sitting of course). The Blazer includes cylinder deactivation, for improved economy, and a 9-speed auto as standard. Again… sounds European…

The 2.0-litre turbo engine outputs 230bhp and 350Nm of torque (233 kW/258 Ib-ft torque). All-wheel-drive will be offered as standard. The 193bhp naturally aspirated 2.5-litre 4-cylinder will continue to be offered… but for how long?

The Blazer will also continue to be offered with the 3.6-litre V6 which outputs 308 bhp and 366Nm of torque (230kW/270lb-ft). However the V6 model will only be available in range-topping RS and Premier trim levels. That’s $41k and $43k respectively.

Expect a tonne of standard equipment and the latest in driver-assist technologies. And of course, the latest infotainment system with a premium sound system and more connectivity than NASA currently offer.

The Chevrolet Blazer will be available to order in US of A showrooms come October. GM has yet to confirm pricing and economy data. As we often say, the latter is just another press release away.
