Utah Man Builds Racing Simulator Out of A Mini And Installs It In His Basement
Video

You’ve got to love the ingenuity and determination of Americans. It seems Americans still have that pioneer spirit in them. When they want to make a racing simulator rig out of a real Mini nothing will stop them. Utah resident, Brent Cheney, made his dream simulator from a full-size Mini after having a lightbulb and Beer moment. He purchased a broken down 2005 Mini One and then set about dismantling the entire car.

Cheney then set about cutting the Mini up into pieces so he could move the entire shell into his basement. From that point onwards it was a case of reassembling the car using nothing more than nuts, bolts and steel brace plates.

The Mini’s engine bay is now powered by a high-powered gaming PC, the windscreen is replaced by a 49-inch Samsung monitor. The total cost of the project was $6,500. In total Cheney spent 40 hours making his dream racing simulator come to life.
