Here it is, the Lamborghini Essenza SCV12. First of all, let’s talk a look at the specs. The naturally aspirated 6.5 litre V12 rages at 820bhp, the 0-62mph time is rated at lunatic and top speed is said to be in the region of suicidal. It is no surprise to hear that the Essenza SCV12 is the most powerful Lamborghini ever created. This is not a Huracan dressed up in a party outfit. Underneath that outlandish and aero-profiled body is a new carbon-fiber monocoque chassis. The chassis is so strong it doesn’t even require a regulatory roll cage.
Roll cage you say? Yes indeed. The Essenza SCV12 is purely built for the track for privileged, high-net-worth private clients. The rear-wheel-drive mean machine houses a six-speed gearbox, rides on 19-inch tyres at the front, 20-inches at the rear. The Formula One derived push-rod suspension is directly fixed to the gearbox.
Brembo brakes provide the designated stopping power. But you will be stopped in your tracks to get hold of one. Only 40 examples will ever be made. And if you are first in line then make sure you have £2m and don’t bring any change. And once you do get behind the wheel, as stated above, you can only drive it on a racing circuit.
But you will never be able to park your Essenza SCV12 in your mega-mansion driveway. The vehicles will effectively be the property of Lamborghini’s Squadra Corsa racing department. They will inform you when where you can drive through a series of private invites. Lamborghini calls it a club, we call it an open hypercar prison.
Stefano Domenicali, CEO and Chairman of Automobili Lamborghini, commented:
“Essenza SCV12 represents the purest track driving experience that our brand can offer, an engineering feat that highlights the inextricable link between our cars and the asphalt of the track. Lamborghini is a brand constantly looking to the future and searching for new challenges, but we never forget our roots and who we are: Essenza SCV12 is the perfect combination of our unconventional spirit as a super sports car manufacturer and our true passion for motorsport.”
