The Tiguan is Volkswagen’s best selling vehicle. But to us here at DCB HQ the Volkswagen Tiguan is simply bloody awful. And now for those Of you who reside in Germany’s Federal European Republic can now get your hands on the Tiguan R. Our dislike of the Tiguan stems from our long term experience of driving it. After many, many months we concluded the Tiguan was simply bloody awful. And now the Tiguan R will allow you to experience all that is bloody awful about the Tiguan… only that much faster.
The bloody awful Tiguan R is, basically, a VW Golf R dressed up as an SUV. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder is tuned to deliver 320 PS (315 HP / 235 kW) and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. The seven-speed dual-clutch DSG automatic transmission drives a 4Motion all-wheel-drive system with torque vectoring as standard.
The aerodynamics… ahh! we can’t be bothered with the rest. Pricing in the Federal Republic of Germany’s Europe starts from a whip-cracking €56,703.53. That’s just €3,000 less than our preferred choice of VW SUV, the bloody OK Touareg.
Why VW? Why?
