Lewis Hamilton has failed to secure victory over Covid-19, the British superstar Formula One driver has admitted to becoming a recluse during the pandemic stricken 2020 season. After securing victory at the Bahrain Grand Prix he woke up on the following Monday experiencing mild Covid-19 symptoms. He will miss this weekend’s Bahrain Grand Prix Part 2 which is being remarketed as the Sakhir Grand Prix due to the on-going pandemic.

Hamilton has followed all FIA health and safety protocols and tested negative in the lead up to the Bahrain Grand Prix. It appears he momentarily let his guard down at some point after the race. It is widely assumed that a close contact, perhaps within Hamilton’s social bubble, was the unsuspecting C-19 spreader.

As of now Hamilton is experiencing mild symptoms but is otherwise fit and well. Mercedes are yet to announce a replacement for Hamilton. Current speculation is focused on Stoffel Vandoorne and an outside bet is Williams F1 backmarker, George Russell.

Nevertheless, with Hamilton stricken in quarantine, it just shows how virulent Covid-19 is.
