Yes, it certainly is a work of Manhart Performance. The German tuning specialist has given standard X5 M Competition a cage fighter makeover. Manhart doesn’t need to do much boosting to the underlying engineering, because this X5 super SUV has a 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 which unleashes 616bhp and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque. With this power, the X5 M Competition can blitz the 0-62mph time in just 3.9 seconds and go on to reach a restricted top speed of 155mph. But that isn’t enough for Manhart because they are planning to boost power to 823bhp and over 1,080 Nm of Torque (797 lb-ft).
But with great power comes great pose-ability and Manhart has already completed the bespoke bodywork work build. The massive front grille, a wide-body kit and lowered suspension mark this X5 M Competition as a super SUV beast to be reckoned with. Some might say the gold trim is overkill but personal taste is in the eye of the beholder.
No word on price or availability, but we can extrapolate. The X5 M Competition costs from £108,000, add another £30,000 possibly £50,000 to the asking price for this Manhart Performance variant.
