Kia Just Got Very Interesting With The EV6
Auto News

Very surprising, very interesting… the Kia EV6 is an electric car you want to own if you are looking to make a design statement. And it also represents Kia’s all-new look electric car offensive which is due to launch in 2022. Kia has created a specific design philosophy for the EV6, but it sounds marketing-driven. We’ll sum it up by saying “style takes priority”. Indeed the EV6 also debuts Kia’s new logo. Clearly, Kia is seeing the transition from fossil fuel-powered cars to battery packs as a chance to transform into a butterfly. Based on current technology, the EV6 will be powered by a 72.6kWh battery pack and offer a maximum range of 255 miles.

The EV6 will support supercharging speeds of up to 220kW which means it will theoretically charge the battery pack from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. The maximum top speed will be 120mph with a 0-62mph sprint time of 5.0 seconds.

As with all legacy car brands, Kia is borrowing Tesla’s minimalist design language philosophy for the interior. And as with all socially conscious car brands, Kia will use recycled plastics for interior trim and materials.

Word on the street is that the Kia EV6 will be priced from £45,000 when it officially launches later this year with orders expected to reach customers in mid-2022.
