Rory Reid isn’t as barking mad as he sounds when comparing the Citroen EC-4 with a Rolls Royce. Once upon a time, Citroen did indeed supply Rolls Royce with it’s proprietary hydropneumatic suspension back in the 1960s. Hydropneumatic suspension is quite a complex system. In basic terms, it uses oil and gas. The gas absorbs excessive force and the oil transfers the force. The advantages are not merely to elevate the ride comfort.
With the arrival of adpative suspension, Hydropneumatics was put on the scrapheap in 2015. But anyway, Reid isn’t done with the Rolls Royce comparison. He also claims the E-C4 steering is as good as… a Rolls Royce. But the biggest takeaway with this review is that Reid didn’t descend into an embarrassing Dad-Rap.
We’ll give our verdict when we get behind the wheel of the Citroen EC-4 when the pandemic ends… seriously!?
