Toyota Tundra Re-Rendered With A Land Cruiser Front End
Auto News

Most people in Europe probably have never heard of the Toyota Tacoma Pickup. Unless that is, you live in Germany. The Germans love the ‘old west’ Cowboy lifestyle. They celebrate it by building their ranches filled with wild horses American style. And the Germans will know about the Toyota Tacoma, it is a giant Pickup sold in America, but it has a problem. It is the fifth best-selling light truck in USA at the moment. And probably the smallest. To address this problem Toyota is launching a super-sized eerily similar-looking giant pickup. It’s called the Tundra and recently images leaked faster than a Wikileaks exposé. Entry-level prices are rumored to be in the region of $36K when it launches later this year.

The Toyota Tundra will be powered by a twin-turbo V6 and hybrid powertrains will also make it onto the options list. But the early reveal has led to some early criticisms from Tacoma owners and fans. It doesn’t look good enough, that sort of thing. One cunning digital artist AKA Theottle decided it was his duty to provide an alternative look.

So he got switched on his computer, booted up Photoshop and made sure his Wacom tablet was fully charged. With a steady supply of coffee, Theottle wiled away into the early hours to produce this digital portmanteau. Behold, the all-new Toyota Land Tundra. So-called because it is rendered with the front end of a Toyota Land Cruiser. Theottle has exorcised the demons. You can watch how he did it in the above video.
