Dodge Expands Ram 1500 Pickup Model Line With Minor Upgrades
Auto News

Pickup trucks are the best thing America has ever invented. Forget the moon landings, the desktop PC, Windows OS and Apple iPhone. None of these groundbreaking technologies can cut it next to a big American pickup truck. That being said, the Dodge Ram 1500 is being given an extended lease of life with the introduction of Laramie G/T and Rebel G/T model trims. Dodge wants to get in on the personal customization scene and is offering what are glorified factory options, masked over as unique custom fittings. The unique features are exclusive to the crew cab model. The only exterior difference we can spot pertains to the ventilated hood.

The interior is where the real attention is paid. The front seats are replaced with bucket seating. You will also spot the odd G/T emblem here and there. The steering wheel has paddle shifts, and the rotary shifter is replaced with a “performance shifter”. Licensed shooting communities and survivalists will be pleased to know the new model trims will feature all-weather floor mats and metal pedals.

Powering these model trims is a mild-hybrid 5.7-litre HEMI V8. Although we don’t have too many specifics, the word on the street is that this particular model line should be good for 395bhp and 556Nm of torque (410 lb-ft). Pricing for the Dodge Ram 1500 Rebel G/T and Laramie G/T model trims start from $55,375 and $55,480 respectively.
