JerryRigEverything is converting a military-grade Humvee into a consumer-friendly electric SUV. The original Humvee was powered by a 6.2 L (380 cu in) V8 diesel or 5.7 L gasoline or 6.5 L (400 cu in) V8 turbo diesel and non-turbo diesel: 190 hp (142 kW) @ 3,400 rpm / 380 lb·ft (515 N·m).

It had a maximum top speed of 70mph. The Humvee has been manufactured since 1983-present. Each unit cost per vehicle currently stands at $200,000 new.

An ex-military Humvee from around 1986 can cost between $10,000 to $25,000 depending on the condition. JerryRigEverything bought a Humvee that was in need of significant refurbishment.

However, the YouTuber decided to turn his Humvee into an electric off-roader. He gutted the entire vehicle and decided to replace the combustion engine with a Tesla Model S powerunit.
