Worst Car of The Week: Hyundai Ioniq 6 Where Style is Out of Fashion
Features

We’re meant to be enthusiastic about the car industry. We wanted to join the RA’ RA’ pom-pom brigade of cheerleading gaslighting media outlets. And what have we, The Daily Car Blog, become? The alternative view. Or are we? do we really have an alternative view? Take the Hyundai Ioniq 6, almost every motoring journalist has praised the exterior design. But in my mind’s eye, it looks hideous. I would rather pay America’s $ 28 trillion debt to China than pay to buy and drive a Hyundai Ioniq 6. The Hyundai Ioniq 6 has the droopiest, stupidest-looking appearance of any electric car to date.

Look at it! just look at it!

But I don’t want to because every time I do it hurts my eyes and causes me mental health problems and war-like flashbacks. Hyundai says the Ionic 6’s exterior is governed by aerodynamic priorities. They say around a third of the car’s efficiency depends on how low the drag coefficient is. The lower the drag, the better the efficiency i.e. you get more mileage.

But I am sorry, if you boast about a car’s low drag-coefficiency it suggests that your underlying technology, the electric motors and batter pack, is inefficient. Do you hear Tesla boasting about its low drag-coefficiency? NO! Look at the Tesla Cybertruck, does that look as though it has a low-drag co-efficient? NO!

So to hide the fact that Hyundai’s electric vehicular technology is inefficient, they pump out the old -drag-coefficiency rule book in their marketing literature which is no better than committing a crime in plain sight. And motoring hacks who want access over original thought will swallow it all with hesitation, repetition, or even raising an eyebrow.

Hyundai, electric cars do not have to resemble melting permafrost revealing the corpse of a Wolly Mammoth. The Hyundai Ioniq 6, is a terrible design, where style was treated like a banned substance. It is also an admission, a crime being committed in plain sight that the underlying electric technology isn’t as good as well-written marketing copy. And for these reasons, YOU! Hyundai Ioniq 6, YOU are the worst car of the week.
