Gordon Murray Automotive Moves Supercar Production to New Purpose Built Facility
Industry News

Gordon Murray Automotive has relocated production of its T.50 supercar to its newly-built Group headquarters in Highams Park, Surrey, marking a strategic move aimed at enhancing efficiency and streamlining operations. By transitioning production from its previous facility at Dunsfold Park, the company anticipates benefiting from various efficiencies.

The move will allow the company to focus on carbon fibre monocoque production for T.33 prototypes and future models at Dunsfold Park, thereby expediting pre-production processes. The investment of over £50 million in constructing the new Gordon Murray Group HQ underscores the company’s commitment to growth and innovation.

The campus, serving as the Group’s global headquarters, houses a state-of-the-art Vehicle Production Centre spanning 4,300 square metres and the Gordon Murray Heritage collection. Additionally, the site boasts a Vehicle Dynamics Test Road, facilitating final validation and pre-delivery checks of GMA supercars amidst the picturesque backdrop of 54 acres of English parkland.

The incorporation of a Driving Perfection Customer Centre within the new HQ further enhances the customer experience, providing owners with a dedicated space to specify, set up, and take delivery of their GMA supercars.

These activities include assessments in chassis dynamics, aerodynamics, durability, performance, emissions, crash testing, and certification.

The vehicle will undergo full homologation for major markets, including Europe and the United States. As part of the development process, the team will conduct more than 30 different crash tests using prototype vehicles.
