It’s a normal news day here at DCB HQ, that is to say, we’re not going to mock, lambast or lampoon an automotive brand or its PR department. You see, in this business motoring journalists and automotive PR departments form a symbiotic relationship. These PR departments are manned by people who in our eyes are ambassadors to their respective brands. While many PR professionals excel in their roles, it takes just a small minority to sink an entire ship.
As history reminds us, a single iceberg sealed the fate of the Titanic, not a fleet of hostile ice formations. Sadly a mutant Skoda iceberg sailed into our path and crashed heavily into the DCB HQ bow. But that melodramatic saga deserves its own telling on another occasion.
For now, we are focused on providing cover for the Skoda brand, I mean relevant news regarding the new Skoda Kodiaq UK pricing and specifications. The Second-generation Kodiaq is available from £36,645, two trim levels will be available at launch; SE and SE L available from launch with new SportLine to follow
Standard equipment for the entry-level Kodia SE (£36,645) includes 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels, LED front and rear lights, heated front seats and keyless start/stop. SE models come with a 13-inch satellite navigation touchscreen display, 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit and tri-zone climate control.
The SE model also comes with a range of safety systems as standard, including Front Assist with braking reaction to vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, Blind Spot Detection with door exit warning and Front Cross Traffic Assist.
SE models can be specified with five or seven-seat layouts with the latter adding a variable boot floor to the standard specification. Power is sourced from either a diesel or petrol engine. The 2.0-litre diesel option offers two power outputs: 150bhp and 193bhp.
The 4-cylinder TSI petrol engine is offered in a single 150bhp configuration. For the top-tier 4×4 models, pricing peaks at £46K before additional options, with a 7-speed automatic transmission as standard across the range.
UK Order books for the new Kodiaq open on Wednesday 10 April 2024, with first deliveries expected in the summer.
