Mercedes-AMG recently unveiled the limited-edition GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport, a doff of the cap to the now vanquished 6.3-liter V-8 engine that has powered the GT3 racing car for years. This non-homologated special edition boasts a potent 671 horsepower, along with a host of motorsport-inspired upgrades, making it even more formidable than its competition counterpart.
To commemorate 130 years of racing heritage, AMG has spared no expense in creating this exceptional vehicle. The naturally aspirated 6.3-liter V-8 engine has been liberated from the constraints of racing series regulations, resulting in a significant power boost. With a peak power output of 671 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque, the Edition 130Y is the most powerful GT3 variant ever produced by AMG.

Beyond its impressive power output, the Edition 130Y features a range of performance enhancements. Carbon-ceramic brakes replace the steel discs required for GT3 racing, reducing weight and improving braking performance.

Aerodynamic upgrades, including a new front splitter, louvers, and a rear wing, enhance downforce by 15 percent compared to the standard GT3. An active aero system further refines the car’s handling and stability.

Safety is paramount in motorsport, and the Edition 130Y is equipped with the same rigorous safety features as its racing counterpart. This includes a carbon fibre safety cell, a five-point harness, safety nets, a roll cage, a fire suppression system, and a motorsport safety fuel tank.

To make ownership even more exclusive, each Edition 130Y comes with a personalized racing suit, gloves, underwear, and shoes designed to match the car’s exterior. A custom car cover and a Bell helmet complete the package.
With a limited production of just 13 units worldwide, the Edition 130Y is priced at EUR 1,030,000.00 (price excl. VAT) and will be seen by collectors as a fitting tribute to the 6.3-liter V-8 engine.
