General Motors has announced the pricing and specifications for the 2025 Cadillac Optiq electric SUV. Starting at $52,895, the Optiq will be slightly more expensive than the Tesla Model Y Performance but significantly more affordable than the larger Cadillac Lyriq.

The Optiq will be offered in four trim levels: Luxury 1SC, 1SE, 1SF, and Sport 1SH. All trims will share the same powertrain, featuring an 85 kWh battery pack and dual electric motors that produce 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque.

Cadillac claims a range of approximately 300 miles on a single charge, with fast charging capability that adds 79 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Expect around 255 miles of real-world range.

Although the Optiq is priced slightly higher than the Model Y, Cadillac is hoping that the premium interior, including a 33-inch curved display and a 19-speaker AKG audio system, will appeal to its target demographic

While Tesla may have an advantage in terms of price and performance efficiency and superior software, it is uncertain almost laughable if buyers will be tempted by the Optiq’s luxurious cabin.

The entry-level Lyriq will be discontinued for the 2025 model year, effectively raising its starting price by about $4,100. This makes the Optiq a more affordable option for those looking for a luxury electric SUV from Cadillac.
