It may not be the most exciting-looking or best driving EV on the market, but BYD Dolphin is a strong swimmer, pun most certainly intended. Indeed BYD has announced the addition of two new trim levels, Active and Boost, to the C-segment hatchback BYD Dolphin. These new options join the existing Comfort and Design trims, completing the DOLPHIN lineup.

The Dolphin packs in a comprehensive range of active and passive safety features, and intelligent driver assistance systems with pricing for the Active starting from £26,195 OTR and £27,165 OTR for the Boost.

Battery and Performance And Range

The Dolphin is equipped with either a 60.4 kWh or 44.9 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate BYD Blade Battery, incorporating improved thermal stability, high power density and optimal performance and efficiency.

The Active trim with a 44.9 kWh battery offers a range of 211 miles, while the Boost trim with the same battery capacity delivers a range of 193 miles. Both models support fast charging, allowing for a quick recharge from 30% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes.

Efficiency

The BYD DOLPHIN prioritizes efficiency with features like a high-efficiency heat pump and a direct cooling and heating system for the battery. These technologies enhance thermal efficiency and improve low-temperature driving range. Additionally, the regenerative braking system helps to recover energy and extend the driving range.

Interior and Space

The DOLPHIN offers a spacious and comfortable interior with seating for five. The car’s dimensions and wheelbase provide ample legroom for both front and rear passengers. The 345-liter trunk can be expanded to 1,310 liters with the rear seats folded down.

Additional Features
