McLaren has officially extended Oscar Piastri’s contract in a multi-year deal, ensuring the Australian driver stays with the team for the long term. This is Piastri’s second contract extension since joining McLaren in 2023, solidifying his place as a key figure in the team’s revival.

Piastri’s impressive 2024 performance included two Grand Prix wins, six podium finishes, and a Sprint race victory, all of which were vital in helping McLaren secure its first Constructors’ Championship since 1998. Piastri also completed every racing lap of the season, achieving a career-best fourth place finish in the Drivers’ Championship.

Expressing his excitement, Piastri stated:
