I’ve never been a fan of convertibles — you practically have to look like Brad Pitt to justify dropping the roof. But let’s be honest: the reality is far worse. Convertibles are usually the playground of balding, aging has-beens desperately chasing lost youth. Boomers bought these two-seater toys by the truckload, but now that they’re passing on, convertible sales are in freefall.
The younger generation? They don’t touch two-seater “poser” convertibles. Yet somehow, freelance digital artist Luca Serafina has decided to flip the script and make them cool again.
Serafina targeted the BMW Z4 — bloated, bland, and begging for a makeover — and the result is stunning. Even I, normally allergic to hopping into a tiny convertible, can imagine tearing around in this thing.
The Serafina Z4 looks sharper, more aggressive, and somehow faster than its specs suggest. It’s all wrapped in BMW’s latest Neue Klasse design language.
The current Z4’s future is bleak: production ends in 2026. BMW seems ready to ditch convertibles entirely as it transitions to the Neue Klasse era.
But you never know BMW might be working on a Z4 Neue Klasse generation as we speak, but honestly, either way, I don’t care I don’t buy convertibles. Nice design though.
